Miyagawa Mandarin – Citrus (Grafted)
Miyagawa Mandarin – Citrus (Grafted)
A premium early Satsuma with big, sweet, seedless fruit.
Miyagawa is a superb early-season Satsuma mandarin, widely grown in New Zealand orchards. It produces large, flattened fruit with smooth, thin skin that peels easily, and sweet, juicy, seedless segments with a rich citrus flavour. The fruit ripens in early winter and holds well on the tree for several weeks, so you can pick it as you need it.
Like all Satsumas, Miyagawa is hardier than most citrus and naturally forms a compact tree, which makes it great for smaller gardens and containers. This tree is grafted onto disease-resistant rootstock for strong, healthy growth and earlier cropping. It’s supplied at a well-established height of approximately 80–90 cm, ready to plant out.

Growing tips: Plant in full sun in free-draining soil, sheltered from strong winds. Water regularly, especially during flowering and fruiting. Feed with a citrus fertiliser in spring and summer. For the sweetest fruit, leave it on the tree a little after it colours up, because Satsumas sweeten the longer they hang.
