Calamondin – Citrus (Grafted)
Calamondin – Citrus (Grafted)
A pretty, compact citrus that’s loaded with tangy little fruit.
Calamondin (also called calamansi or Philippine lime) is a hybrid of mandarin and kumquat. It’s one of the most ornamental citrus you can grow. The compact tree is covered in glossy dark-green leaves, fragrant white blossom and clusters of small, round, bright-orange fruit, often all at the same time.
The fruit has a thin, fragrant skin and very tangy, juicy flesh. Use it like a lime or lemon: squeeze it over seafood and noodles, add it to drinks and dressings, or make it into marmalade, jams and preserves. It’s a staple of Filipino cooking.
This tree is grafted onto disease-resistant rootstock for strong, healthy growth and earlier fruiting than cutting-grown plants. It’s supplied at a well-established height of approximately 80–90 cm, ready to plant out.
