Encore is a popular late-season mandarin that keeps you in fresh fruit long after the winter mandarins have finished. Its medium-sized fruit have a thin, easy-peel skin, often lightly speckled, and juicy flesh with a sweet, rich, aromatic flavour that many consider among the best of any mandarin. The fruit holds well on the tree, so you can pick it as you need it.

The compact, attractive tree suits smaller gardens and large pots. This tree is grafted onto disease-resistant rootstock for strong, healthy growth and earlier cropping. It’s supplied at a well-established height of approximately 80–90 cm, ready to plant out.

Size: Supplied at approx. 80–90 cm tall. Grows to around 2–2.5 m high × 2 m wide. It’s also great in a large container.

Growing tips: Plant in full sun in free-draining soil, in a warm, sheltered spot. The more sun it gets, the sweeter the fruit. Protect from frost, especially while young. Water regularly and feed with a citrus fertiliser in spring and late summer. Encore can crop heavily one year and lightly the next, and thinning the fruit in a heavy year helps even this out.
